Explore three different sanctuaries — Chilla, Motichur and Rajaji — which make up the territory of the reserve, while basing yourself at the Ultimate Travelling Camp. Known for its tigers and elephants, this park is home to a variety of fauna, including several endangered species, making it ideal terrain for wildlife lovers, photographers and those who simply enjoy being in pristine natural surroundings.

Situated amid stunning natural surroundings, our intimate camp has just eleven tented suites, making it an ideal base for you to enjoy your environs. Explore the national park, go angling in the river, take a rafting trip down the Ganges, walk and cycle into the wilderness, and for the ultimate adrenaline rush, zip line through the tree-tops or go bungee jumping! One can also visit the holy city of Haridwar, and take in the ancient cultural traditions of this beautiful city on the banks of the River Ganges.

The tents vary in size however they are all spacious, comprising of a bedroom, bathroom and verandah areas. Chamba Camp Thiksey in Leh offers premium Presidential Suite Tents with an extra wing that accommodates up to two extra beds, a sleeping area and a seating area, or a complete lounge setting. All tents have large windows to allow our guest to enjoy the beautiful scenic view. Air-conditioning and heating facilities are also provided depending upon the requirement.

Climatic Conditions and Daily Weather

You could expect day time temperatures to be pleasant in the mornings with clear blue skies and getting to be quite warm with the mercury hovering at around 25-32° C during noon.
The winds pick up a bit at 1300-1600 HRS .The evening chill sets in once the sun sinks in and the nights can prove to be a bit cold.
July – August is predictably the best months as the Monsoons start entering into the trans-Himalayas by late August.
