Climatic Conditions and Daily WeatherYou could expect day time temperatures to be pleasant in the mornings with clear blue skies and getting to be quite warm with the mercury hovering at around 25-32° C during noon. The winds pick up a bit at 1300-1600 HRS .The evening chill sets in once the sun sinks in and the nights can prove to be a bit cold. July – August is predictably the best months as the Monsoons start entering into the trans-Himalayas by late August.
Sitting in the twin shadows of Stok Kangri and the Ladakh range, Chamba Camp in Thiksey, enjoys the stark landscape of ever-changing colours. The chanting of prayers from the nearby Thiksey Monastery, echoes in the silence of the mountains. The camp welcomes you to this rejuvenating view every single day. The camp offers outdoor seating by three water bodies. Each seating area has its own aqua deck with a plethora of dining options and an indoor setting, equipped with fun games to keep you entertained. Try your hand at archery and croquet, or watch a game of Polo, the ancient sport of the royals. If you’re in the mood for some adventure, hop onto a bicycle to explore the nearby villages. Walk amongst ancient stupas, and beautiful, gnarled trees, or just sit back, and enjoy the birdsong that our campsite is blessed with. We guarantee a soul-stirring experience!
While all tents are not the same shape, each tent is spacious, comprising of a bedroom, bathroom and verandah area. The premium Presidential Suite Tents in the Thiksey Camp, (Leh region) in Ladakh have an extra wing which can accommodate up to 2 extra beds, a bed and seating area or a complete lounge setting. All tents have large windows to allow our guest to enjoy their beautiful surroundings. Air-conditioning and heating are also provided depending on the location and requirement.
